He was predeceased by: his parents, Melvin Burelison and Lucy Maguire Burelison; and his son Van T. Burelison. He is survived by: his wife Anh Nguyen Burelison; his grandsons, Mitchell Burelison of Richmond and Marcus Minor (Michelle) of Richmond; his great grandchild Cameron Minor; and his daughter-in-law Tracy Burelison of Richmond. He is also survived by nieces; nephews; cousins; and many friends.
