He was predeceased by: his brothers, James Burdette and Elbert Burdette Jr.. He is survived by: his wife Ruth Ann; his children, Cheryl Toney (Joel) of Williamsburg, John Burdette Jr. of Centerville and Jerry Burdette (Krista) of Centerville; his grandchildren, Thomas Pyle, James Pyle, Elizabeth Fowler (Brandon), Justin Burdette, Emily Burdette, Skyler Tate (Josh), Jessica Burdette and Madison Burdette; and his brother Robert Burdette of Richmond. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
