He is survived by: his wife Clara Juanita Williams Shawhan; his daughters, Marilyn Sue Van Zant (Tim) of Richmond and Shirley Ann Shawhan of Richmond; and his sister Dorothy Banning of Economy, Indiana. He is also survived by nieces; nephews; cousins; and many friends.
