It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Freida Jeannette McCord Bates (Centerville, Indiana), who passed away on October 11, 2019, at the age of 80, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her husband Lucian O. Bates; her son Monty Allen Covalt; and her siblings, Ralph McCord, Harold "Bud" McCord, Martha Jean Mullins, Eleanor Sue Harvey, Clara L. Pierce, Mary Catherine Feustel and Carolyn Swoveland.
She is survived by: her pet Lucky; her children, Bird, Diana Bays (Ralph), Lilah Webb (Daryll "Buster"), Gary Covalt and Brian Covalt (Jessica); and her siblings, Charles McCord (Marcella), Joan Hicks, Jane Moiser and Judy McCord. She is also survived by eleven grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren.
