She was predeceased by: her parents, Hubert Jochem and Anna Jochem (Sermersheim); her husband Virgil J. Knies; her son Kurt Knies; her siblings, Viola Schwartz (Albert), Ralph, Lawrence (Joan) and Robert Jochem; and her siblings-in-law, Rosetta Hasenour (Anthony Sr.), Jane Knies, Dennis (Ruth), Jerome (Bernice), Albert (Cyrilla), James, Vernon, Ernest Knies, Delmar Schroering and Jerry Burger.
She is survived by: her grandson Caleb Knies (Savannah) of Murfreesboro, TN; her great grandchild Smith Knies; her daughter-in-law Chris Knies of Dale, IN; and her siblings-in-law, Ellen Jochem, Connie Schroering of Jasper, IN, Sharon Burger of Jasper, IN, Bonnie Knies of Jasper, IN, Paul Knies (Carol) of Jasper, IN, Perry Knies of Jasper, IN, Bernard Knies (Diane) of Celestine, IN and Randall Knies (Janice) of Celestine, IN. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
