She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Frank Kluesner and Bertha Kluesner (Gehlhausen); her husband Alfred A. Merkel; her children, Donna Ulrich (Paul), Diane Niehaus (Larry), Andrew Merkel (Janie), Gary Merkel (Ann), Bernie Merkel (Lisa) and Doug Merkel (Renee); and her sisters, Anna Mae Kempf, Lou Alice Buechler and Mary Heeke.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Isidore Parish, or to a favorite charity.
