It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Dorothy C. Merter of Celestine, Indiana, who passed away on October 17, 2022, at the age of 96, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Henry Humbert and Petronella "Nellie" Humbert (Hoffman); her husband Frank J. Merter; her grandchildren, Joseph Stewart, Stephanie and Lauren Merter; her son-in-law Elmer Stewart; and her siblings, George, Edward, Victor Humbert, Bernadette Mundy and Henrietta Humbert.
She is survived by: her children, Rosemary Stewart, Patricia Gogel (Ronald), Sharon Reckelhoff (Clarence), Judy Sitzman (Steve), Beverly Himsel (Jerry), Donna Altman (Randy), Virginia Breitwieser, David Merter and Alan Merter (Donna). She is also survived by thirty-three grandchildren, and fifty-two great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the St. Celestine Cemetery Fund.
