She was predeceased by: her parents, John Swets and Dorothy Swets; her husband Lester Burkart; her son Jason Burkart; and her siblings, Jimmy Swets, Doug Swets, David Ramsey and Agnes Mussel.

She is survived by: her son Shane Burkart (Dawn); her grandchildren, Sebastian, Isaiah, Emily, Jenna and Daniel; her sisters, Margie Balkis (Joe), Sally Swets and Janet Ramsey; and her caregiver Julie Montealegre. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
