He is survived by: his wife Deborah Machalk; his son Douglas Machalk (Ashley); his grandchildren, Connor Machalk, Lexie, Ryan, Chris, Ethen, Devin, Savannah and Karly; his sister Darcy Fournier (Tom); and his mother Janice Kuharski. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
