He was predeceased by: his parents, William H. Putnick and Betty Jane Putnick (Hille); his stepfather Harold Rutz (Bo); his siblings, William F. Putnick (Butch) and Barbara Heis; and his nephew James William Heis (Billy).
He is survived by: his wife Melissa Harry; his children, Adam Putnick (Autumn) of Avon, IN and Kathryn Putnick of Aurora, IN; his granddaughter Audrey; and his nieces and nephews, John Heis (Beth), Angel Ripperger (Brian), Lisa Severt (Nick), Joe Putnick (Kirstin), Ed Putnick, Stephanie Stegmuller (Todd), Maria Kunkel (Zach), Luke Putnick (Lauren) and Carmen Schultz (Craig).
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Michael's Catholic Church in Brookville, The Wounded Warriors Foundation, or St. Jude Children's Hospital.
