It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Robert Leon Whitfield of Carthage, Indiana, who passed away on January 31, 2022, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Whitfield and Essie Whitfield (Craven); his wife Shirley Ann Whitfield (Todd); his granddaughter Melisa Shantel Speer; and his siblings, Beatrice Stacey, Charles Whitfield, James Whitfield and Kenneth Whitfield.
He is survived by: his children, Patia Ertel (David), Theresa Speer (Terry) and Greg Whitfield (Elizabeth Harris) of Carthage. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
