He was predeceased by: his brother Walter; his son John Ballew; his children-in-law, Gary Shepherd and Linda Batchelor-Ballew; and his granddaughter Valerie Ann Howard.
He is survived by: his wife Jean Ballew; and his children, Zoe Howard (Thom), Pete Ballew (Darien Tropf), Linda Shepherd, Barbara Tubbs (Mark) and Katie Haugk (Matt). He is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
