He was predeceased by: his parents, William Carl and Opal Lucille Shanks (Younger); and his brother Roger Shanks. He is survived by: his wife Sandra Shanks of Carmel; his daughters, Jefra Bounds of Westfield and Carlee Dawodu (Femi) of Battle Ground; his sisters, Jill Evans and Lafayette; and his grandchildren, Catherine Dawodu, Debjani Dawodu, Kinleigh Bounds, Keziah Dawodu, Elizabeth Dawodu, Eden Dawodu, Jubilee Dawodu and Aliyah Dawodu.
