He was predeceased by: his parents, Ralph McKinney and Roxie McKinney (Tabor); his son Stan; and his siblings, Hesper, Eva, Kenneth and Betty.
He is survived by: his wife Luciena Marie Ross; his son Melvin Scott "Pete" McKinney (Ruth); and his grandsons, Jess (Courtney), Mike (Jill), Nick (Brooke) and John (Lauren). He is also survived by ten great grandchildren.
