It is always difficult saying goodbye to someone we love and cherish. Family and friends must say goodbye to their beloved Merrill Quarles of Carmel, Indiana, born in Elwood, Indiana, who passed away at the age of 88, on October 5, 2021. He was predeceased by: his parents, John H. Quarles and L. Kate Quarles (Horner); his siblings, Phyllis Budd (Jesse), Eugene Quarles (Wilma Jean), Mary Thomas (Tommy) and Donald Quarles; and his son Thomas "Rick" Quarles.

He is survived by: his wife Mara-Le Quarles of Carmel; his daughter Beth Quarles of Carmel; his granddaughters, Kady Falls (Travis) of Brownsburg and Karson Gritten (Ridge) of Monticello; his great grandchildren, Haddie Falls and Sawyer Falls; his daughter-in-law Sheri Quarles of Monticello; his sister-in-law Katherine Quarles of South Carolina; his brother John Budd; his nieces and nephews, Jeff Budd, Linda Runyon, Kathy Barber, Larry Quarles, Ann Quarles and D. J. Quarles; and his son Church.

Health precautions for the safety of the family and visitors will include face coverings and social distancing.

Memorial contributions are suggested to St. Luke's United Methodist Church.

“Mara-Le and Beth We both are thinking about you at this difficult time. Merrill was always a fun person to talk with. We would be mowing, trimming, snowblowing and he came out to chat with us. He was a great neighbor. Always pleasant and positive. So glad to have known him.”
