Janice E. Smith Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Janice E. Smith of Carmel, Indiana, born in Lagrange, Indiana, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on September 23, 2024 at the age of 95. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Orville Nelson and Lelia Nelson (Garlets); her husband Jim Smith; her son-in-law Jerry Haskett; and her siblings, Oneita Nelson, Phyllis Meyer, Goldie Hooley, Thurlow Nelson, Frazier Nelson and Ralph Nelson.
She is survived by: her children, Susan Haskett, Jim Smith (Nancy) and Tom Smith (Kim); her grandchildren, Katie Walker (Chris), Jamie Haskett (Erin) and Rebecca Deckard (Jason); and her great grandchildren, Tyler, Tate, Grace Walker, J. D., Will Haskett, Austin, Isaac and Andrew Deckard.
The family requests in lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Janice, be given to the Endowment Scholarship Fund, Carmel United Methodist Church, 621 S Rangeline Road, Carmel, IN 46032.
