He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Raghubir Palta and Amra Vati Palta; his wife Asha; his sons, Rohit, Rahul and Sanjay; and his siblings, Narinder, Ravinder, Rajinder, Suniti, Divya and Indu. He was also cherished by nephews and nieces.
