She was predeceased by: her parents, William Gerald Beckway and Alice Madsen Beckway; and her brother Gerald W. Beckway. She is survived by: her husband Peter Buchan Smith; her children, Kristi Smith Petruzzi (David Petruzzi) and William Buchan Smith (Amber Ripp Smith); her grandchildren, Michael, Nick, Grayce, John, Alex and Brandon; her brother Brent Beckway; and her sister-in-law Denise Beckway (Gerald W. Beckway).
Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 22nd 2025 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church (325 E Carmel Dr, Carmel, IN 46032). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 22nd 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Flanner Buchanan-Carmel (325 E Carmel Dr, Carmel, IN 46032). She attended the University of Iowa until the flu pandemic of 1957 caused her to transfer closer to home enrolling at Illinois Wesleyan University where she joined Alpha Gamma Delta sorority.
