He was predeceased by: his parents, Murnal Ellis and Mary Helen Shepherd (Marsh); and his wife Patricia Shepherd. He is survived by: his children, Brian Shepherd (Jenee) and Jennifer Rice (Jason); his stepchildren, Jill Gill and Russell Belicek (Anne); his grandchildren, Conor, Addison, Chloe, Lauren, Jacquelin, Quincy and Haven; and his brothers, Jerry Shepherd (Jayne) and Tim Shepherd.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the Alzheimer's Association.
