He was predeceased by: his parents, John Bemis and Ollie Bemis (Lanham); his granddaughter Melanie Bemis; his great grandchild Alexis Harper; and his siblings, Bertha Buffington, Opal Grigsby, Wilma Holt, John Robert "Bobby" Bemis, Margaret Jenkins, Katie Head, Jack Bemis, Agnes Kirk and Donna Sutherland.
He is survived by: his wife Linda Bemis; his sister Phyllis Joan Edwards (Robert); his children, Larry Bemis (Dawn R.), Brian Bemis (Amy), Tina Holman (Ted), Michael Bemis (Dawn M.), Alice "Nikki" Bemis, Lori Lewis and Amber Prewitt (Fred); and his grandchildren, Tiffany (Tommy), Jeremiah (Danielle), Tabetha (Joey), Christopher (Brittney), Seth (Brooke), Ashlen (Jake), Paul, Baillee, Jessica, Kaitlyn (Justin), Ryan, Melinda (Cody), Cotie (Megan), MacKenzie (Bronson), Dominick, Hailee (Lucas), Britney (Dustin), Cameron, Brittany (Cory), Justin and Tylee. He is also survived by 32 great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, extended family.
