He was predeceased by: his parents, Virgil Nichols and Geneva Nichols (Garver); his wife Ruby Nichols; his son David Nichols; his granddaughter Sally Nichols; his sister Mary Elizabeth Nichols; and his brother-in-law Richard E. Howe.
He is survived by: his daughter Teresa Hofherr (David) of Yorktown; his siblings, Myrnajean Howe of Muncie and Charles Nichols (Nola) of Muncie; his grandchildren, Aaron Hofherr (Ricci) of Summitville, Greg Hofherr (Wendy) of Pendleton, Brian Nichols of Sergeant Bluff, IA and Amanda Smith (Scott) of Moyock, NC; his great grandchildren, Kiara Nichols, Dylan Hofherr, Grant Hofherr, Evan Hofherr and Addison Hofherr; his daughter-in-law Karla Myrtue; and his nephew Richard W. "Dick" Howe. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Memorial contributions may be given to the Cammack United Methodist Church, 1901 N. Cammack St., Muncie, IN 47304.
