He was predeceased by: his parents, Roger Short and Willadene Short (Greer); and his wife Donna Jean. He is survived by: his children, Brandi Daniel Nape (Tracy) of Delphi, Gary Short Jr. (Janelle) of Lafayette, Sabrina Bolin (Jody) of Texas and Robert Short (Brandi) of Utah; his stepsons, David Hicks (Dianna) of Camden and James Hicks (Tracy) of Illinois; and his sisters, Edna Halsema of Linden, Sharon Short of Camden, Janie Snodgrass of Flora, Janet Barker (Jerry) of Sheridan and Judy Owens (Gary) of Kirklin. He is also survived by 20 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions in Gary Sr.'s honor may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital or American Cancer Society.
