He was predeceased by: his parents, Virgil Dyer and Judith McCullough Dyer; his children, Cindy Wilson and Adam Dyer; and his brother Robert Dyer.

He is survived by: his wife Janet Dyer; his children, Carrie Dyer, Brandon Murray and Thomas Wilson; and his sisters, Charlotte Livingston (Jim) and Sue Babb. He is also survived by several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
