He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Sturgis and Mae Sturgis. He is survived by: his wife Betty "Bess" Sturgis; his children, Will Sturgis (Tracy) and Erin Elizabeth Hammer (Derek); his grandchildren, Vincent Hammer, Vivien Hammer, Claire Sturgis, Lydia Sturgis and Eleanor Sturgis; and his brothers, Barry Sturgis and Jerry Sturgis. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Friday, January 17th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Saturday, January 18th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Waskom Capitol Hill Chapel (1010 E Main St, Cambridge City, IN 47327). A funeral service was held on Saturday, January 18th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
