He was predeceased by: his parents, James Roberts and Dorothy Roberts (Barringer); and his siblings, John Roberts, Mary Cardinal, Shirley and Faye Powers.

He is survived by: his children, Roy "Lee" Roberts (Sheila) of North Vernon and Lynda Hadley (Danny) of Columbus; his brother James Roberts (Joyce) of Columbus; and his grandchildren, Peggy Asher of Jeffersonville, Roy Asher (Melody) of North Vernon, Jesse Asher (Lindsey) of Columbus, Clifford Roberts of Columbus, Melinda Kerns (Bobby) of Columbus and Bobby Noblitt of Columbus. He is also survived by twenty one great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
