He was predeceased by: his parents, Elmer M. Hulbert and Cleo C. Hulbert Rickerd (Scott); and his siblings, Arlie Hulbert, Olen Hulbert, Loren Hulbert, Carl Hulbert, Glen DeWayne "Wink" Hulbert, Darrel Hulbert, Rick Rickerd, Lola Rickerd, Evelyn Hulbert, JoAnn Hulbert and Dora Irene Hulbert.

He is survived by: his sons, Ronald L. (Melissa Hulbert) and Darwin M. (Kimberly Hulbert); his grandchildren, Shelby Hulbert, Christian Hulbert, Dylan Hulbert, Dominick Hulbert, Tiffany Kerner, Calub Simnon and Seth Baker; his great grandchildren, Wyatt Hulbert, Nevaeh Fitzcharles, Jahla Simnon and Mackenzy Harris; his brother Lloyd "Butch"; and his sister-in-law Vivian Hulbert of Pleasant Lake.
