It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Crit Akers of Butler, Indiana, born in Dorton, Kentucky, who passed away on March 14, 2022, at the age of 74, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Noah Akers and Dora Akers (Flannery); his stepsons, Ken Hankins and Greg Ordway; and his siblings, Chris, Bobby, Jeanette Akers and Elaine Gilpin.

He is survived by: his pets, Molly and Muffy; his wife Bonnie I. Ordway (Buchin); his sons, Scott Akers (Lynell) of Eaton Rapids and Derek Akers of Greeneville, Tennessee; his stepchildren, Marie Hankins of Eaton Rapids, Janelle Ridgway of Edgerton, Kenneth Stephen Ordway (Diane) of Blakeslee, Kerry Ordway (Jennifer) of Edgerton and Chad Ordway (Mary) of Edon, Ohio; and his siblings, Erlene Morrison, Sylvia Termini, Nellie Little, Louise Anderson, Loretta Akers, Dawn Webb and Curtis Akers.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are requested to the family or to the DeKalb County Humane Shelter.
