He was predeceased by: his parents, John Perak and Adela Wallace; his wife Grace Perak (Logan); and his siblings, Helen Violet McMahon, Mary Ann Matules and Leroy Medvrich.

He is survived by: his children, Angela Lebron of Valparaiso, IN, Nicole Thompson of Crown Point, IN, Cathy Fernandez of Dallas, TX, Sherry Aguilar (Rick) of Dallas, TX, Donald Thompson Jr. of Burns Harbor, IN and David Thompson (Heather) of Chesterton, IN; and his sisters, Julie Folk McHenry of Illinois and Jean Gloria Davis of Mississippi. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren.

Visitation was held on Friday, December 27th 2024 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the White-Love Funeral Home (525 S 2nd St, Chesterton, IN 46304). A funeral service was held on Friday, December 27th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
