He was predeceased by: his father Everett E. "Skeet" Thomas; his stepmother Gertie "Gert" Connell-Thomas (Martindale); and his grandparents, Marvin, Hazel Thomas, Louis and Betty Carr.
He is survived by: his mother Linda Thomas (Carr) of Monticello; his wife Heidi Thomas (Harvey) of Burnettsville; his sons, Jake Thomas of Burnettsville, Ethan Thomas of Lafayette and Brody Thomas (Autumn) of Burnettsville; his grandchildren, Rilan Thomas, Emmet and Elliot Thomas of Burnettsville; his stepsons, Christopher "Chris" Williams of Burnettsville and Brandon Williams of West Lafayette; his sister Kristy Kirchhoff (Chad) of Avon; his stepsiblings, Carla Connell of Royal Center and Charles "Chuck" Connell (Darlene) of Burnettsville; his mother-in-law Patricia "Pat" Harvey of Burnettsville; and his brother-in-law Anthony "Tony" Harvey (Margaret "Meg") of Indianapolis. He is also survived by several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins, and friends.
In lieu of flowers memorial may be given to American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association.
