He was predeceased by: his parents, Lawrence Smith and Mildred Wampler (Arnold); his brothers, Edward Smith and Michael Smith; and his siblings-in-law, Gale Smith and Melvin McIntire.
He is survived by: his wife Kathy J. Smith of Burnettsville; his son Ryan Smith (Vanessa) of Plainfield; his grandsons, Hector Hernandez and Marcus Smith of Plainfield; his siblings, Kenneth Smith of Pekin, Mary June McIntire of Royal Center, Lorie Berkshire (Tim) of Royal Center, Norma Howard of Royal Center and Rebecca Johnson (Kenny) of Ohio; and his siblings-in-law, Phillip Frye (Lynne) of Rochester, Diana Smith of Rochester, Carol Colvin Kewanna (Eric) and Linda Brady of Logansport. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
