He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold E. Payne and Patricia Mae Payne (Kult); his daughter Rachel Leann Payne; and his brothers, Fred E. Payne and Jerry D. Payne.
He is survived by: his wife Karolyn R. Gosewehr; his child Nikki Payne of Kokomo; his stepsons, William "Buck" Scott (Alicia) of Buck Creek and Jeremy Scott (Holly) of Lafayette; his sisters, Pamela A. Land of Buck Creek and Karen S. Timmons of Lafayette; and his grandchildren, Grace, Cooper, Lily, Amie, Timothy and Daisy.
