She was predeceased by: her parents, Amos Hackman and Katie Hackman (Duwe); her husband Barry E. Sommers; her parents-in-law, Louis F. and Maudie Sommers (Bedel); her brothers, Eugene Hackman, Omer Hackman, Earl Hackman and Hubert Hackman; and her siblings-in-law, Lorna Hackman, Alvona Hackman, Sandra Hackman and William R. Sommers.
She is survived by: her children, Kimberly Jackson (Gary) of Brownstown and John B. Sommers (Chris) of Brownstown; her grandchildren, Brandy Hampton (Nicholas) of Seymour, Cliff Sommers of Brownstown and Anna Hochstedler (Jonathon) of Brownstown; her great grandchildren, Presley Hampton, Isaac Hampton, Dawson Hochstedler, Baryn Hochstedler and Sophia Hochstedler; her brothers, William Hackman of Seymour and Leon Hackman (Becky) of Brownstown; and her sisters-in-law, Mary Hackman of Seymour and Joyce Hackman of Brownstown. She is also survived by nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, November 26th 2024 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Wednesday, November 27th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A funeral service was held on Wednesday, November 27th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the St. Peters Lutheran Church (403 W Bridge St, Brownstown, IN 47220).
Memorials may be given to St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Brownstown, Riley Hospital for Children, or St. Jude Children's Hospital.
