He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Glenn Richey and Anna Fae Turner Massie; and his siblings, Charles Richey and Idella Sherman. He is survived by: his wife Carol Mostek Richey; and his children, Dwayne Alan Richey of Crothersville, Tammie Weir of Brownstown, Laura Jane Shepherd of Columbus and Mischelle Richey of Lancaster. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
