He was predeceased by: his parents, Elonzo Colwell and Sally Colwell; and his siblings, Clarisse Howard, Janice S. Proffitt, Darvis Colwell (Sandy) and Dennis Hall.
He is survived by: his wife Deborah Pruett; his daughter Sondra Short (Stephen) of Brownstown; his sister Bonnie Hall of Knoxville, Tennessee; his grandchildren, Mason Short of Brownstown, Brody Short of Brownstown and Holdan Short of Brownstown; and his sister-in-law Earleen Hall. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be given to Down Syndrome Indiana.
