She was predeceased by: her parents, W. R. "Red" Butt and Ruth Butt (Marsh); her siblings, Sally Banks and James Butt; and her siblings-in-law, Robert Gillespie and Lela Gillespie.

She is survived by: her husband Jack Ray Gillespie of Brownstown; her children, Jeanne Lou Gillespie (John Palensky) of Hattiesburg, Jane Elizabeth Ellery (Peter) of Brownstown and Charles "Chuck" Gillespie (Margaret) of Fishers; her grandchildren, Veronica Palensky, Shannon Ellery, Drew Ellery, Fiona Palensky, Emma Gillespie and Jaden Palensky; and her siblings-in-law, Darlene Butt, Jacque Gillespie and Jerry Banks. She is also survived by nephews; and a niece.

Memorials may be given to Brownstown United Methodist Church or Hoosier Christian Village Auxiliary.
