He was predeceased by: his parents, William Everett and Patricia Marie Christina Trout (Merlau); his father-in-law Ronald Kenworthy; his sister Pamela Trout; and his son Logan Trout.

He is survived by: his wife Melissa Trout; his children, Kendall Taylor (Matthew), Hayden Trout, Mackenzie Trout and Jacob Trout (Alejandra); his grandchildren, Logan Taylor and Avelynn Trout; his brothers, Dr. William Trout (Candace) and Rev. Edward Trout (Michael Davis); and his mother-in-law Donna Kenworthy.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, March 11th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Erlewein Mortuary & Crematory (1484 US-40, Greenfield, IN 46140). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, March 12th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the New Palestine United Methodist Church (3565 S 500 W, New Palestine, IN 46163).
