He was predeceased by: his parents, Wilbur Spurgeon and Henrietta Spurgeon. He is survived by: his wife Connie; his children, Rhonda Tucker (Dan) and Brad Spurgeon (Kim); his grandchildren, Jeremy Tucker (Dana), Josh Tucker (Lindsay), Lyndsey Cooper (Nick) and Justin Spurgeon (Shelbi); and his great grandchildren, Ashlyn Tucker, Alivia Tucker, Addie Tucker, Bennett Cooper, Griffin Cooper, Alayna Tucker, Hayden Spurgeon and Avery Spurgeon.
