It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Laura Elaine Smith of Brookville, Indiana, born in Corbin, Kentucky, who passed away on November 11, 2023, at the age of 76, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Steely B. Wells and Dovie Louise Wells (Nantz); her husband David V. Smith Sr.; her daughters, Connie Lynn O'Neill, Annette Hale and Priscilla Brittain; her siblings, Charlotte Wells, Rita Sue Wells, Ada Dean Foster, Edna Jean West, Steely Bradford Wells and Edward Lee Wells; her half-brother Douglas Wells; and her grandson Chance David Galyen.
She is survived by: her children, Louise Bargo of Corbin, Elaine Olert (James) of Lexington, Kym Smith of Brookville, Laura Galyen (Marty) of Brookville and David Smith (Charlene) of Brookville, Indiana; her siblings, Georgia Ann Sester of Maysville, Kentucky, Brenda Foster, Teresa Bowman, Judy Wells, Shirley Todd and Patricia Ramos; and her close friend Brenda Rains of Brookville, Indiana.. She is also survived by 24 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.
