He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Schoettelkotte and Stella Schoettelkotte (Ritzi); his wife Marlene Retzner; his grandson Cody Miley; and his brother Edward Schoettelkotte Jr..

He is survived by: his children, John Schoettelkotte (Tammy), Thomas Schoettelkotte (Deborah), Andrea Miley (Dave) and Gina Gillman (Wes); and his siblings, Bernie Schoettelkotte, Gene Schoettelkotte, Ellen Rauch, Estelle Gesell, Regina Kunkel, Rita Erhart, Clare McCool and Anne Schoettelkotte. He is also survived by nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be directed to St. Peter's Church Cemetery Fund.
