He was predeceased by: his parents, James Carlile and Mona Carlile (Sorenson); his brother Larry Carlile; his nephew Troy Harman; his grandson Trevor; and his great grandchild Shawn Casey.

He is survived by: his wife Julia Carlile (Griswold); his children, Thomas Carlile (Wendy), Stephanie Smith (Scott), Christopher Carlile (Amber), Nicholas Carlile, Chad Carlile (Candace), Carrie Gordon, Jon Gordon, Jeremy Gordon (Catherine) and Lisa Casey; and his siblings, Janet Harman, David Carlile (Becky), Paul Carlile (Kris) and Timothy Carlile (Angie). He is also survived by 20 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
