He was predeceased by: his parents, Herbert T. Herget and Bonnie K. Herget (McMurry); his daughter Debra K. Herget; his brothers, John "Ted" Herget, Joe Herget, Robert Herget and Greg Herget; and his nephew Jeff Herget.
He is survived by: his wife Debra Lucas; his sisters, Angie Hazelton of West Lafayette and Rosemary Howard of Ft. Wayne; his sister-in-law Debbie Herget of Brookston; and his nieces and nephews, Kenny Lucas (Deb), Terry Lucas (Jamie), Sara McMullan (Pat), Angie Hochstetler (Bobby), Toni Earl (Danny), Shannon Leming (Rich), Julie Fickle (Matt) and Jill Mikels (Scott). He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and cousins.
