He is survived by: his wife Connie Newland; his children, Cynthia Lashley (Vance Lashley), Jerry Newland (JoAnn Newland), Terry Newland and Jim Newland; his grandchildren, Kyle Lashley (Breanna Lashley), Dennis Newland, Cassandra Telkamp, Jordan Newland, Rochelle Newland and Kaitlyn Newland; and his great grandchild Caden Lashley.
