He was predeceased by: his parents, Allie Stinnett and Minnie E. Stinnett (Mallott); his stepfather Thomas White; his sister Alfa A. Bushong; his half-brother Thomas A. White; and his grandson Mikel S. Grant.
He is survived by: his children, Betty "BJ" Grant, Brenda Johnston and Jim Stinnett; his half-sister Berdina Faye Stackhouse of Brookston; and his grandsons, Brad, Jeff, Sean, Cody, Brandon and Vince. He is also survived by 12 great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made in his name to the American Cancer Society.
