She was predeceased by: her parents, Archie Wood and Sylvia Wood (Nees); her husband Earl W. Horton; and her siblings, Bill, Keith, Archie "Junior" Wood and Mary Lou Saunders.

She is survived by: her children, Karen Burns of Wolcott, Larry Horton, Brenda Haynes, Sandy Alumbaugh and Dave Horton; her sisters, Dorothy Shookman and Nina Viehman; and also, Karen, Larry, Brenda, Sandy and Dave. She is also survived by her 13 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made in Helen's name to the Badger Grove Community Baptist Church.
