He was predeceased by: his parents, Merrell Holwerda and Olive Holwerda (Ford); and his sister Karen Sue Meyers. He is survived by: his children, Lisa Holeman (Jim) of Brookston, Carl Holwerda (Lisa J.) of California, MD and Michael Holwerda (Pamela) of Louisville, KY; his siblings, Betty Johnson (Willis) of Brookston and Myron Holwerda (Carol) of Lafayette; his brother-in-law Paul Meyers of Fayetteville, NC.; his grandchildren, Stephani Clark (Ryan) of Reynolds, Alexis Holwerda of California, MD, Austen Holwerda of Louisville, KY. and Charles "Tucker" Holwerda of Louisville, KY.; and his great grandchildren, Cameron, Colin and Caylyn.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are appreciated in Charles name to the Brookston Federated Church, American Cancer Society, or the Juvenile Diabetes Association.
