She was predeceased by: her parents, Amos Slayton and Louise Slayton (Summers); her significant other Roscoe E. Deckard; and her siblings, Russell A. Slayton and Gladys Benker Hodge.
She is survived by: her children, Ron Deckard (Elmira) of Brookston, Fred Deckard (Charlene) of Brookston and Carol Young (Ira) of West Lafayette; her grandchildren, Ryan Deckard (Carla) of Brookston, Kristin Dawson (Jay) of Battle Ground, Ashley Lee (Jason) of Lafayette, Emily Swain (Jon) of Blackfoot, ID and Corrine Deckard of Manchester, MI.; and her great grandchildren, Rhett, Kaitlyn Deckard, Nicolas and Allison Dawson.
Memorials may be made in her name to the Badger Grove Community Baptist Church.
