Sammi Chupp Reiff Obituary
Sammi (Elva) Chupp Reiff, 84, of Bristol, died Monday, March 6, 2023 at home surrounded by her family.
She was born September 22, 1938 in Kalona, Iowa to Martin and Lydiann (Yoder) Bontrager.
On December 28, 1957 she married Isaac "Ike" Chupp. He died October 10, 1998. She later married William H. Reiff, retired Army Brigadier General, February 24, 2007. He died December 27, 2012.
Survivors include three children, Sharon (Lyle) Shinn, Bristol, Rick Chupp, Georgia and Roger (Laurie) Chupp, Goshen; four grandchildren, Jennifer (Tim) Jankowski, Naples, Florida, Jamie (Dustin) Hoy, Noblesville, Jessica Chupp, Atlanta, Georgia, and Sergeant First Class Randy (Jessica) Chupp, Clarksville, Tennessee; three great-grandchildren, Aubrey Hoy, and Lyla and Waylon Chupp; and many "grand pups".
Also surviving is a sister, Anna Knepp, Bristol, and brothers, Jonas Bontrager, Elkhart and Marty Bontrager, Shipshewana.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter in law, Joyce Chupp; a sister, Barbara Bender; seven brothers, Edward, Tobias, Allen, John, Joe, Marvin, Ruben Bontrager; brothers in law, Karol Knepp and Omer Bender; and sister in law, Peg Bontrager.
Sammi was truly an amazingly funny and spunky woman who absolutely left a huge impression on everyone she met. She had a positive and energetic attitude that was contagious.
She loved people and being with them, especially her children and grandchildren; always showing great pride in their accomplishments.
Visitation will be Sunday, March 12, 2023 from 2 to 6 p.m. at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home, and again on Monday, March 13, from 10 to 11 a.m. prior to the 11 a.m. funeral service, also at the funeral home. Sammi's nephew, Pastor Ronald Bontrager will officiate.
Burial will follow at Elkhart Prairie Cemetery, Goshen.
