He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert A. Butterfield and Mary L. Butterfield. He is survived by: his former wife Kathryn D. Tipton; his wife Kathy; his children, Richard Michael II Butterfield (Beverly) of Indianapolis, Scott Allen Butterfield (Laura) of Indianapolis, Christopher D. Butterfield of Indianapolis, Jennifer Davis (Mark) of Texas and Kristina L. Butler of Michigan; and his siblings, Patti Traut of Indianapolis, Albert "Sonny" Butterfield of Greenwood, IN. and Dennis Butterfield (Carol) of Princess Lake, IN.. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
