He was predeceased by: his wife Kay L. Phillips; his parents, John and Doris (Hyatt); and his sister Suzsebelle Williams. He is survived by: his son James A. "Jimmy" Hanes, Jr. (Heather) of Bristol; and his grandchildren, Cooper, Hunter and Ella Mae Hanes. He is also survived by extended family and Pennsylvania-based relatives, a long list of good friends.
