He was predeceased by: his mother Rosalie Turpin (Akers); his grandfathers, Archie Turpin (Mary) and Edward Akers (Bertha); and his stepgrandfather Robert Boling (Lillian). He is survived by: his father Charles Turpin (Betty) of Estero, FL; his wife Beth Ann; his children, Charles Turpin of Bremen, Heather Turpin of South Bend and Matthew Turpin (Kayla); his grandchild Maila Turpin of Dunlap; his adoptive son Ricky Sumpter (Ashley) of Bremen; and his brothers, Rick Turpin (Sue) of Bremen and Tim Turpin (Laura) of Cedar Lake, IN. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial contributions to be made St. Dominic Catholic Church or American Cancer Society Memorial Donation.
